"Bring-Back" Japanese Navy Battle Flag and Paper Money-0012 "SOLD"
This large, silk Japanese navy-style Battle Flag and money came from the estate of a U.S. serviceman. I was told that the flag and currency were part of a “bring-back’ lot, probably from the Philippines. The flag is a nice size, measuring approximately 29.00″ high X 37.00” long. The original corner tabs and tie strings disappeared long ago but you can still see the remnants from where they were originally attached. The hoist and fly side edges are hem re-enforced for added strength. There are a few minor stains, seen mostly around the 3 o’clock area of the flag but the silk is in great condition. There is a single line of black kanji in the lower left-hand corner but I have not read it. The paper money is still in great shape and includes a: 10 Peso note and two 50 Yen notes. The flag is in overall great condition and is in the desirable style where the round, center sun is off-set.
