Imperial Japanese Good Luck Signed Flag- 00124
This is a classic looking silk Imperial Japanese Good Luck Signed Flag. The approximate measurements are 28.” high X 42.” long. Although the white field is typically age toned, the material is in overall very good-plus condition. The red sun orb is nicely silk screened near the center of the field. The fly and hoist side edges have been provided with extra stitches to lend strength to those high stress areas of the flag. The brown paper corner tabs are in good condition and the purple cotton tie strings are firmly in place in both corner. Remnants of a price control tag may seen in the lower left-hand quadrant.
Across the upper horizontal aspect of the flag, large black kanji characters for the saying Buun Chokyu or “May Your Military Fortunes Be Long Lasting” are shown. A number of people have signed the flag including those with the Nakada and Nakayama surnames. This is an overall very nice Japanese good luck flag in near excellent condition.
