Imperial Japanese Good Luck Signed Flag-00134
This is a salty Imperial Japanese Good Luck Signed Flag made from silk. Overall, the approximate measurements are 28.75″ high X 33.50″ long. The fly and hoist side edges are hem stitched for added strength. There is some fraying on the fly side edge from use outside in the field. The bright red sun orb is set near the center of the age darkened white field. The gauze corner tabs remain sewn in their corners and the tie strings remain in place.
Across the horizontal top segment of the flag, the large and bold kanji characters for Buun Chokyu or “May Your Military Fortunes Be Long Lasting” stand out. Along with the names of well-wishers, there is a notable vertical line of characters in the upper right-hand corner that say “Give to the brave eastern warrior!”
There are a couple of small holes near the 11-12 o’clock center of the flag as well as battle stains (see images). A fine flag overall…
