Imperial Japanese Good Luck Signed Flag-0088-"SOLD"

This Imperial Japanese Good Luck Signed Flag measures approximately 27.50″ X 28.00″. Its gold painted, paper corner tabs are in place and each has its remaining tie strings firmly attached.  The red sun in the center has been screened onto the white background.  The flag is heavily stained but in relatively good condition, with one area of insect bites around the 4-5 o’clock positions. The large characters across the top of the flag say Ki Buun Chokyu or “I pray your military fortunes are long lasting”.  The flag was presented to Kitagawa Jirou. There is another signature present, but I am unable to make it out.

This original battle field acquired flag is heavily stained throughout.
