Japanese Battle Flag-0013
This large silk Japanese Battle Flag measures approximately 30.” high X 34.” long. The flag is a silk screened example that was probably produced later in the war. Both faux leather corner tabs are nicely sewn in place. One tab is made from a pebbled, dark brown paper, while the second tab is made from a pebbled gold foil paper. Full silk tie strings are in place in both corners and both the fly and hoist side edges have added stitching for strength. There is one small pin hole in the center of the red center orb (difficult to see unless you hold up to the light). Also, the white colored rays have darkened a bit with age.
This flag is in overall excellent condition. Vintage Battle Flags are becoming difficult to find.
