Japanese Battle Flag- 23″ high X 35.75″ long “SOLD”

This silk Japanese Battle Flag is in good condition.  Overall, the flag measures approximately 23.” high X 35.75″ long.  There are a few scattered insect bites (see images). The red color of the sun and rays is slightly faded and the white rays are age-darkened as would be expected with a flag of this age.  The fly and hoist side edges have extra stitching to provide strength to those areas.  The gold foil corner tabs are sewn in place but there is some of the underlying silver showing through.  The white silk tie strings are in place, but they are dirty.  Overall, this is a nice flag in good condition.
