Japanese Signal Flags: mf-0002

This pair of Japanese Signal Flags are in very good condition with some minor stains from age and use. They were found rolled together with Good Luck Flag #glf-0038 and may have belonged to the same person. The red and white cotton flags each measure 12.50″ High X 16.25″ Long. The red flag has re-enforced stitching around all 3 sides, while the white flag has added stitching along the top and fly side edges. In addition, the white flag appears to be named to someone named “Ohashi”. Both flags have open loops to accommodate the owner’s hand grip and the heavy solid bamboo support handles are in terrific condition.
These flags are typical of the type seen in vintage photographs showing pilots being flagged into position for landing or take-off maneuvers.
