1000 Stitch Belt-0027
This amazing Senninbari or 1000 Stitch Belt is the longest belt I have encountered to date! Somewhat battle stained, it is made from a white cotton cloth, this senninbari measures approximately 6.25″High X 93.50″ Long. Small black circles have been ink pressed onto the cloth in order to indicate where each red cotton threaded stitch was to be placed. One side of the belt is composed of flat stitching, while the corresponding side is comprised of long or “hairy” threads. This method of stitching a belt was comfortable to wear against the abdomen, while the long-threaded outer aspect was visually more interesting. This particular one-thousand stitch belt is even longer than the one described in the book, Imperial Japanese Good Luck Flags and One-Thousand Stitch Belts on pages 196-197. A very nice stitch belt at a great price!
