This is a classic Japanese sake cup that measures approximately 2.25″ across. It is in mint condition with beautiful gold leaf, blue and red paint. Across the upper rim, a large red-headed crane, the symbol for longevity, flies along holding a nobori/banner, in its talons. In the middle-center, a Japanese Imperial Guard emblem is painted in gold leaf paint, surrounded by a wonderfully offsetting circle of blue paint. There are many kanji characters, custom painted in gold leaf paint on both the inside and outside bottom.
