Measuring nearly 2.75″ across, this sake cup is almost completely painted in gold leaf! The outer rim depicts a cherry blossom. At the top of the flower, a large Japanese army star was painted. On either side of it, a Japanese national flag and battle flag are crossed and then lashed together by a red painted cord that is tied in a bow. Located near the bottom of the flag poles, four gold leafed kanji characters are seen. This mint cup is bright and appears to be practically new. Hard to believe that it is nearly 80 years old!
