Sake Cup-0018

This Japanese sake cup measures approximately 3.25-inches across.  There are no chips or cracks in the porcelain.  The gold leaf around the rim is slightly worn. The center design features a Japanese rayed battle flag on its staff.  There are gold leaf painted tassels along the edges of the flag.  Near the 9 o’clock position is a large Imperial Army star also painted in gold leaf.  Below it are 4 gold painted kanji characters.  The reverse of the cup is in marvelous condition with gold painted kanji characters surrounding the outer rim.
